Our Story and Where We Came From

I’ve always believed that the things we build should make a difference, not just for us, but for those we care about most.
For me, that’s always been my dogs.

As a refrigeration technician, I’ve spent nearly a decade designing systems that keep people comfortable in any climate. But when I moved from Canberra’s freezing winters to Queensland’s relentless heat, I saw firsthand how harsh the weather could be on my own dogs. Pepper, my Rottweiler, adapted easily. Teddy, my Tibetan Mastiff, didn’t. He struggled to stay cool, even in the shade, and shaving his thick coat wasn’t an option. Watching him suffer through the heat made me realise something important, dogs depend on us for everything, yet the world hasn’t given them the same comfort and care we expect for ourselves.

That’s where K9CRIBS began — not as a business idea, but as a necessity born out of love and responsibility.
I set out to create a solution that didn’t exist: a climate-controlled, insulated, reverse-cycle kennel designed to keep dogs comfortable and healthy all year round, no matter the weather. What started as a sketch in my garage quickly became an obsession, refining the airflow, the insulation, the materials, until it was something I’d proudly trust my own dogs to live in.

K9CRIBS isn’t just another dog house. It’s the result of years of hands-on engineering, hard lessons in business, and a deep belief that our pets deserve better.
Every detail — from the cooling technology to the materials and design - exists for one reason: to protect dogs from the discomfort, stress, and health risks that extreme weather can cause.

For me, this is more than innovation. It’s personal.
K9CRIBS represents my commitment to creating a world where dogs can live in the same comfort, safety, and care that they give us every day - because they’re family, too.

K9CRIBS — A little luxury for the ones who love you unconditionally.
